Singaporeans jailed over kangaroo picture
On 26th May 2008, three Singaporeans who wore clothes with a picture of a kangaroo dress as a judge entered the Supreme Court. But the judge thought they ignored to despise the Supreme Court. Therefore, the three men were sentenced to between seven and fifteen days in jail by the judge. And the judge also ordered to each play court costs of NTP$ 109300.
The kangaroo court is expressed against the judicial system and no unfairness in Singapore.
Singapore is a developed nation. Their residenters have a high English grade and have a high living standard. So I think Singapore is also a democratic and free country.
However after reading this article, I feel Singapore is not a very freedom of the democracy country.
Maybe, I was born in a democratic country. Thus, I was very surprised that three men were sentenced who touched the national law. If the three men did the same thing in my city, I was sure that they were free. (170words)
