Obese Canadian inmate released because Big House too small

My reaction:

This article is talking about an obese prisoner who comes from Canada. He was arrested for selling drugs and was sentenced to five years in prison.

Fortunately, a judge later reduced his sentence because of the hardships for him in the prison which means that the 195kg man was claimed to have endured in the prison which was designed for smaller criminals.

I feel it is so poor for him to live in a small cell. I don’t understand why the prisoner needed to sell drugs, because it is a bad thing for people and for himself. I hope he doesn’t do it again after being released. At last, the prisoner said a sentence for the daily, ‘‘I made some mistakes and I paid for them’’ what he said is very meaningful for me.

On the other hand, people always said that too fat is not good for us. But after reading this article, I feel that too fat is not bad. Maybe sometimes it would help you like the prisoner. (180 words)

Myanmar’s cyclone

My Reactions:

Burma was a very beautiful country, but a horrible tsunami changed this place. The tsunami made the thousands of people dead and millions of people hunger.

After listening to this news, I feel so sad for what their government did. I don’t know why the Burmese government stopped the International Rescue Organization to help their people since the tsunami had happened.

When I saw the victims of a natural calamity in the pictures, I was much affected. They didn’t have any house for living, they didn’t have any meat to eat, and they didn’t have any clean water for drinking.

For the Burmese government, were their people’s lives really unimportant? In Burma, the government not only forbids them to demonstrate but also forbids them from the freedom of speech.

Comparing with Burma, I think Taiwan is a happy place compare with Burma. At last, people can talk what they want. To take about Taiwanese government is able to protect their people and prepare so many services for them. (169 words)

New Zealand council wants to dig up dog’s grave to prove it’s dead

My Reactions:

It is a very special article for me. I don’t believe this case could happen on the world. This article talk that a dog killed a protected fur seal on the beach in New Zealand. Therefore, the dog had to be killed by the national law.

In order to protect the dog’s life, the dog’s host told a lie. He said that after his dog killed the protected fur seal, his dog died of a kidney infection and then he buried the dog’s corpse in the back yard. Of cause, he finally was found out the case of false pretenses.

I feel the dog’s host is very poor. The dog’s host not only had to pay NT$21,400 for this case but also lost his dog because the dog was sentenced to be destroyed.

I think he loved his dog so much, thus he decided to tell a lie to protect his pet.
He refused the police officer to dig up the grave of the dog to prove whether the dog died, so now he might be appealed by the Council official. (186words)
